The serene beauty of Ripples by ~cptkangaroo took my breath away. A seemingly simple image with a strong compositional curve results in something special. (

whoa, looks so surreal.... the water surface reminds me of a tablet screen (one of which i'd dearly love to have)... especially the Wacom Graphire and Intuos ones... ANYWAY this is a really nice shot, the sand is .... again... surreal, and the water smooth, and the composition is perfect. Congrats on the well-deserved DD!
Hmm, I usually don't comment on daily deviations but this one is too awesome @_@; The contrast between the smooth water and the patterny sand and the black and white is perfect. It gives off a feeling of distance and desolation...
what an amazing texture in the sand! this pic is so unique--i've never seen anything like it. the fact that the sea is almost the same shade of grey as the sky creates an interesting effect. i also like the transition from light to dark. good work! i'll make sure to check out the rest of your gallery.
This shot has such astounding composure and an unique texture to it; my favourite part has to be the top of the picture, though, where everything seemlingly fades off into the distance. The contrast is ballanced nicely for a black and white capture, which is extremely rare to see here on deviantART. This is simply an exquisite photo, and my first favourite in three months.
Just wondering, but was this taken at Camber beach in Rye, and was it done on film?
